Vacuum Cleaner ULPA Filter
ULPA (Ultra Low Particulate Air) exhaust filter for Nilfisk GM80P Cleanroom Vacuum Cleaner.
This filter ensures that 99.999% of all ultrafine particles, toxic and nuisance, are retained, down to and including 0.12 microns. The ULPA filter cartridge is mounted on the top of the motor, outside the container. It requires the ULPA filter mounting kit (included as part of our Nilfisk Vacuum package)
If the motor filter and the microfilter are properly maintained, the glass fibre element in the ULPA exchaust filter should perform satisfactorily for a minimum of one year. Exact lifespan will depend on the frequency of use, and amount and type of material collected.
Normally, four changes of microfilter equal one change of the ULPA filter. To do so, remove the protective metal casing and replace the pleated glass fibre cartridge according to the accompanying insutructions. Cartridges must be replaced more frequently if the cleaner has had unusually heavy use, or if the various pre-filters have been neglected.

ULPA vs HEPA
ULPA and HEPA filters share many characteristics but differ in some crucial aspects. Both filters use layers of dense fibers to create a fine mesh filter that removes contaminants as air is forced through them. Both HEPA and ULPA filters use a combination of three main methods to trap contaminants: diffusion, interception, and inertial impaction. However, ULPA filters offer a higher specification of filtration due to the increased density of the filter medium, when compared to HEPA filters:
HEPA filters retain a least 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 µm
ULPA filters retain a least 99.99% of particles down to 0.12 µm
